The institutional dynamics of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) reflect its evolution from a traditional monetary authority to a modern institution, aligned with European standards. Created in the political context, following the achievement of state independence, the National Bank of Moldova occupies the main role in the country’s economy. Throughout the evolution of the Moldovan banking system, for over 30 years, the NBM has demonstrated countless times that it represents a fundamental institution of society. The National Bank of Moldova has established itself as a symbol of national sovereignty. The National Bank of Moldova, being a pillar of state independence, now exercises complex powers of central authority over the national banking sector.
