Abstract
This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the procedural and criminal aspects concerning the investigation of customs-related offences committed through postal consignments. It emphasises how the use of postal and international courier infrastructures facilitates the diversification and evolution of smuggling practices, allowing offenders to operate at increasingly sophisticated levels. The study further outlines the procedural framework regulating the investigation, evidence collection, and documentation of customs offences perpetrated via postal shipments, while addressing the balance between enforcement measures and the protection of fundamental rights under domestic and international law.
